Jordan Brand teams up with the Philippines to bring us the Titan x Air Jordan 23 “XX3.” Hardcore B-ball fans may know about Titan 22, which operates as the first and only basketball specialty store, boutique, and barbershop all rolled into one. Established in the Philippines in 2010, they have grown to 7 locations spread throughout the country to celebrate the “love of the game.”
History in the heels…
The sport itself formed in Massachusetts in 1891, basketball has grown into a worldwide pass time but hits differently in the Philippines, introduced to the sport in 1898. Integrated into their educational system, the Philippines would go on to win Gold in the Far Eastern Games in 1913. in truth, basketball is as much Filipino as it is American. And Jordan brand’s repeated partnerships with Titan 22 have done a lot to boost hoop culture worldwide.
As quoted from their website, “This is our hoop sanctuary. It’s a safe haven for those who live and breathe basketball. To the ones who obsess about the game as much as we do, this is home court. Our promise is to bring the best basketball products in the world and the most inspiring stories we can tell.”
Get into the look…
Mark Smith and Tinker Hatfield’s first-ever sustainable basketball shoe design gets the Titan 22 treatment, featuring meticulously embroidered Metallic Gold lightning bolts atop the full-grain Black leather side panels wrapping into the heel. Likewise, Black hits the quilted dual-density collar and sole inserts, and eyestays. White brilliantly coats the leather tongue and rubber outsole. Sail hits the laces, and mudguard looping into the vamp and wrapping around the heel.
Gorgeous University Red accents pop in the tongue, vamp, and toe box perforations as well as the outline stitching. Meanwhile, Golden emblems bearing the Titan 22 logo on the tongue match the tongue liner and branding along with the sole inserts. OG detailing like the Michael Jordan signature across the Black toe tip, the style code of the original 2008 colorway on the medial heel, and his fingerprints on the inside of the tongue are given new life when mixed with the lux colorway.
