adidas goes vegan with their upcoming Kazuki Kuraishi collaboration for the SNS x adidas Superstar 80s “Kinenbi” dropping December 28th. Known for her incredible work with fashion lines like BAPE and The North Face, Japanese designer Kazuki Kuraishi offers up a sustainable Superstar with global retailer SneakersNStuff. The name “Kinenbi” translates to “anniversary” most likely references the Superstar itself celebrating 51 years.
In detail, the Superstar upper returns to its roots with the classic Footwear White and Core Black colorway with some interesting additions. The usual leather construction turns into an almost completely velcro upper. Only the White tongue topped with matching laces remains leather. This allows the Japanese and Swedish floral patches alongside the “SNS KZK” and “KINENBI” branding to pull the focus.
The flowers, it’s said, are normally given for anniversaries and times of celebration. Subsequently, the Off-White shell toe leading to the rubber outsole tonally matches the Metallic Bronze cobranding on the Core Black insoles. Likewise, this cobranding is reversed across the Black heel counters. Additionally, to complement the “Kinenbi” Superstar look, a 5-piece collection coated in the same floral graphics accompanies one of the most iconic sneakers ever made. So, will you add the SNS x adidas Superstar 80s “Kinenbi” to your collection? Get yours and the rest of the SNS Kinenbi collection on December 28th.
