Released October 31st retailing for $230, the 380 Calcite Glow has been highly anticipated by Yeezy fans. Taking its name from the crystalizing mineral, Calcite is common enough to be found throughout the world. This gives off a “diamond-in-the-rough” feel to the Yeezy Boost. Shimmering off White Primeknit threading makes up the base of the upper.
Although we’ve seen the ornate ink-blot test style patterns on previous 380s, a key difference lies in the doubled-up stitch work in the lightly lime-tinted off White threading acting as the mid-seam, forefoot, mudguard, and wrapping around the elevated heel. This gives a raised feel to the silhouette, similar to the way crystal spreads outward when forming. While a Light Grey perforated strip appears on the medial side, the lateral side chooses a deeper hue. However, both reveal translucent caging below and reinforced transparent threading on top.
The 380 collar matches the medial strip in tone and pair nicely with the off White locked-in laces. But of course, what we’re here to see is the full-length glow-in-the-dark Boost midsole and rubber treading along the outsole. Appearing ghostly pale in the light and illuminated from within when the lights go out. An additional set of laces accompany the Calcite in the same off White color.
